Rockhampton 2026

To celebrate its 131st competition, the Queensland Eisteddfod will return north to Rockhampton over the 2026 Easter long weekend (April 3-5). As with previous visits to the northernmost location in our eisteddfod circuit, the competition will be based out of the Pilbeam Theatre, with some items also being held in the Walter Reid Cultural Centre.

Programme Books

Pre-ordered programme books for the competition have been distributed. If you ordered a programme but have not received it, please contact us at 2026@queenslandeisteddfod.org.au.

Further programmes are available for purchase from Trybooking for $12 for a Hard-Copy Programme, or $8 for a Digital Programme. Hard-copy purchases made now will be available for collection from the Eisteddfod Office from the afternoon of Thursday 2 April.

It is recommended that all competitors obtain a programme, as competitor numbers will only be published in that book.

Tickets

All competitors, teachers, accompanists and audience members will require tickets to be admitted into the competition venues, except for competitors in Youth Choral Items (Items 116-120), who will be admitted to the venue free of charge for the relevant sessions only.

Tickets are available for purchase through the Pilbeam Theatre Box Office (online here, or call (07) 4927 4111). Season Tickets will allow entry to any venue for any session across the competition weekend, and are the more economical option for those attending more than two sessions. Session Tickets will allow entry to any venue of the given session (eg. Friday morning).

Official Accompanists

For those without a programme, a summary of the weekend’s competition is available, including a listing of the relevant Official Accompanists for each Item.

Competitors should have received an email with contact details for the Official Accompanists. If you have not received this, please contact us urgently at 2026@queenslandeisteddfod.org.au. We ask that all competitors contact their relevant Official Accompanists by Sunday, 15 March, as well as having provided copies of their music, and to arrange rehearsal times.

Rehearsal fees are $15 per selection (payable by the competitor at the time of rehearsal). There is no fee payable by the competitor for the actual performance at the Eisteddfod.

Submission of Own Choice Materials

Adjudicator copies of own choice materials were due by Sunday, 15 March. If you are yet to submit a selection, or need to change a selection, please email us at 2026@queenslandeisteddfod.org.au
